Newb Needs help with an older Omega that just stopped working today...Pix
It just stopped this morning at 8:45am California time. The movement inside says:Omega Watch co Swiss 1002. I have been calling around this morning and the guy at .Magnums located in New York says it is valued at $10,000 USD without the Gold the Gold Bracelet and that it would be $500-600 USD to repair. I had no idea it was worth that much. Is it really?Couple of quik Questions.1. Can anyone suggest a repair shop?2. The Bezel is plastic and the GOld Colored round piece that secures it is not gold. My father said he had sent it out to a local repair shop who sent it to another repair shop and he never noticed if the origional was Crystal and if the surround was actual gold. Should this piece be Gold or Gold colored and should it be Crystal or Plastic?3. Can anyone help me date the watch with the information I have given above?4. Lastly, it does have 2ea. So, I arrived yesterday evening too early at Singapore¡¯s Changi Airport Singapore, with time to spare. After filling up myself with free food from the airport lounge, I decided to walk around looking for duty free. But with nothing interesting to buy, I started to amuse myself by looking at my watch instead and it suddenly dawn on me that my AP 15400 is putting up a lightshow! I mean the airport terminal, with all the shops and neon lights and signboards giving out all kinds of light and reflections, it is the perfect venue for a watch like my Royal Oak 15400 to dance to all the lights around. Like this : So with my trusty cameraphone, I started to photograph my watch under all sorts of lighting conditions. And the pics do turn out quite nice! 5726 grey dial on bracelet or strap or 5167R
Hi all,I would just like to know your opinion and personal tastes between these 3 watches, don't hesitate to write the reasons why you prefer this one to these, etc.For me I think it's in the order of the choices, 1st on bracelet, 2nd on strap and 3rd the 5167R, I am contemplating the eventual purchase of one, many have suggested the 5167 as I already have a Nautilus, but if ever I do get one it will be the 5726, what is the most important, having very different pieces to have a 3-4 piece collection as diversified as possible, or getting the pieces you love the most, even if 2 of them are very close?Anyways I think I would get on strap even if I kinda prefer the bracelet version, but in this case the preference is not huge and it would be better IMO to have one Nautilus on strap and one on bracelet since I have a 5712.
