Rolex Explorer 2 Watch For 2011
For 2011 Rolex offers a new Explorer 2 to follow up last year's new Explorer. While the Explorer was bumped up to 39mm last year, the Explorer 2 is the Rolex sport watch with a modern size of 42mm in width. That is 2mm larger than the Submariner, and it likely wears better than the 43mm wide Submariner Deep Sea. Also new is the return of the orange GMT hand in addition to the Maxi-dial like size of the hands and hour indicators.In a 42mm wide case, the Explorer 2 is in 904L steel with a mix of polished and brushed surfaces. While known for its white dial, the Explorer 2 now comes with a black dialed version as is traditional for the line - both in lacquer. Contrast on the dial on both models remains excellent, with the signature large orange GMT hand remaining on the dial. Both dials feature "Chromalight" luminant. The hands are all in white gold. Went to AD and got an Anchor
My AD called me today to let me know he got a Milgauss finally. He got a black one, I am holding out for the green crystal. I was very excited to finally see one in person. The watch is so nice.........To my surprise he had something for me. As some of you read my AD got robbed at gun point 3 weeks ago. Rolex required him to send back all of the boxes. While going through them he found one that had the Anchor, 1000 Ft..etc that came when you bought a Sub. As most of you know they stopped doing that awhile back. This one is in the original package, never opened. Since I own 2 sub's I have always wanted one, but didn't want to pay for it. I bought my first one in 2004, which is right when they stopped including them.To say the least I was very happy about it. That is the kind of AD that I like doing my buisness with.

I just like sharp contrast...
when I'm shooting these "floater" shots. Even when using a lot of color, the black backgrounds help pop out the extra details making them more easily discernable. Works very well with black and white also I think. These two seem to illustrate the point fairly well. Shot the black face Navi on Friday, the white Cossie earlier this year. ;) :)Cheers,Ron

Just in 1954 Elgin Seaman with fancy case and lugs
Looking at the 1954 catalog listing the 6754 is the Seaman, both shock resistant and water resistant. I just don't have a picture to confirm it 100%.Besides removing 60 odd years of man gunk from the groves, the case is in immaculate condition and the dial is pretty sharp as well.The stainless steel case has horizontal circular grooves along the side and flared grooves on the lugs. It runs a 17 jewel 687.

First luxury watch at age 19
I'm turning 19 in a couple of weeks and I am getting ready to purchase my first luxury watch, after many years of being a gigantic watch enthusiast. I was originally set on the Submariner but to be completely frank, I am put off by the idea of wearing a Rolex watch at my age. I feel like a Speedmaster would be much more fitting for a young man, since it does not scream rich and spoiled yuppie the way the Submariner might. Should I buy a Speedmaster and save the Submariner for when I am older and more mature, or should I just get the Sub now? I would love to get your opinions. Thank you so much
