My new baby - Speedmaster Day/Date "Mk40"!
This one just arrive about an hour ago! My all time favorite Omega - the Speedmaster Day/Date 3520.53.00 a.k.a. "Mk40".This is the original Michael Schumacher watch, and it features an Omega modified Valjoux 7751 automatic movement. I had one of these previously that I foolishly sold off. Lucky for me I was able to acquire this one which is actually in better shape than the first one I owned. It really is in amazing condition considering that it is at least 10 years old! All the functions work perfectly, and even the lume still kicks it like it was brand new!I simply love the gray dial combined with red, yellow, and white hand colors. This is the only watch I've ever kept on a winder just because it takes awhile to set if you let it stop running.. :) Of course I like the Speedmaster bracelet, but I think I'll be putting this on a genuine Omega double ridge strap like the one shown in the Omega advertisement below.

At last my BC3 has arrived and i'm even more pleased with it than i thought i would be. I intend pressing it into service just as soon as i size the rather generous bracelet for my skinny wrist!

Working for Watches?
A few of you know that I have a love for fixing old wind up clocks and giving them new life. The movements are much easier to see! The word is out that I will fix a clock that people cannot afford to fix...I just did one clock for a friends Mom...She was so happy....The clock was a wedding present and it stopped running the week her husband died. I returned it to her running and she literally cried. We proceeded to talk about clocks and watches and I mentioned Hamilton (of course). She ran into another room and came out with a Hamilton (1970's?)watch. She said she gave it to her husband but he hardly wore it because it was too large! She wanted me to have it because she had kept his favorite watch! My friend "twisted my arm" and verified his Dad never wore it! well, this is a big concern happening to omega fans.In a recent poll at some place, the black Seamaster [2254.50] got 67% against a 33% for the blue Seamaster [aka Bond]the black SMP wins all the way vs the Bondthese are the things that people finds:better handsbetter dialless fancy braceletnicer bezelthe problem is, there are some rumors that omega is planing on discontinuing this much appreciated watch and release a black Bond styled seamaster.the question is, why will omega do that?

Explorer 114270 bezel question
Hey, I have a question: is the bezel on an Explorer 114270 snapped or screwed in place? Also, is it directly responsible for waterproofing the watch or is there another ring underneath it to make the watch waterproof?
