There is an internet archive tool that periodically crawls the web and stores copies of the pages it finds. This is their home page. The latest archive of the elginwatches.org was done in Jun 2011 and can be seen here. Most of the text can be recovered but some of the picture links don't show. As far as the database the SN by year page is present as is the grade summary list but the search page doen't work probably because the links to the database information were not captured or are not available from the original servers. The two databases were available for download from the PW_elgin Program link but it gives an error in the archive now. The names of the two files are elgin_grade_data and elgin_sn_data. I am hoping that someone on the forum was curious enough to download these files and have copies of them. I believe that they can be turned into a usable search tool again and since they were freely available on the original site it should be OK to use them for their original resear

How many links on a BNIB, factory sealed Planet Ocean?
Hi Omega experts. Out of the blue, I have an amazing incoming tomorrow! BNIB, factory sealed, Seamaster Planet Ocean. Reference #232.30.46.21.01.001This has the 8500 movement which I hear is on par with the Rolex 3135/3137 movement. I think Omega is using an even newer 9300 on the newest POs, and they may even be better, but anyway...This has the black face and bezel. I have read the comparisons to the sub, and I'm so pleased that it can be mentioned alongside that watch. I'm really looking forward to enjoying it, especially since I paid a very fair price from a trusted seller here on the forum.Here is the question. This watch is factory sealed. How many links should it come with? More importantly, how big a wrist from the factory will it fit? My wrist is 7.5 and I like to wear my watch loose. Upgrade or Wait For Grail?
I have a 3710 Comet, which I enjoy wearing daily. I am a huge fan of the Nautilus line. Coincidentally my appreciation of the different models corresponds to their prices: I love my Comet, but I like the 5712 better, and the 5726 better than that, and the 5980 best of all.My watch fund grows slowly. I have the value in the 3710 plus cash to buy a 5712, but not enough for my 5980 grail piece. Here's my question: Suppose the 5980 is your grail, and you currently have a 3710 (or 5711), and you like all the Nautilus models as I noted above. Do you trade up the line as you save? Or just wait (like years) to buy the grail and skip the models in between? Presume the loss (if any) from selling the current watch is not a factor.What Would U Do?
