My wife gave me a Hamilton Riva Chrono for my marriage, but I already owned an automatic Hamilton watch (see attached picture), but I don't know the model name. It has a glass porthole on the back. I had it in 1995 for my PhD.Seeking in modern catalog, it seems very similiar to a Khaki Field Automatic.Does anyone know the name of this model?

Why a pilot? (Help me pull the trigger!)
I'm writing to seek some expertise, or a justification to "pull the trigger" I can't seem to stop admiring the IWC Classic Pilot (IW371701) and IWC Pilot Mark XVI (3255-01). However I have no logical basis for an additional watch purchase (my current watches are below). What I'm wondering is, What are the objective qualities that make a pilot watch different than a regular watch? And as a side question, What's the justification for spending a lot more on an IWC, when a Hamilton pilot with ETA movement can be had for a lot less? There's something about holding the IWC, but I'm having a hard time justifying it to myself or my significant other! Thanks.(Current watches: Rolex Datejust, Zenith Elite, Tag Heuer Aquaracer, Tissot PR50)
