Ball CM1010D-SCJ-BK wrist watches news:
Nomos is always an exciting brand to visit at BaselWorld. Last year, they wowed with the introduction of the swing system, their proprietary escapement that marked a huge step for the brand (as it would any brand, really) and their Metro. This year, Nomos came ready with the natural progression of that development, boasting several new models and a totally new automatic movement.First up are the Metro 38 Datum and the Metro 38 Datum black. The Metro 38 Datum is a companion piece to the previously released Datum, which is undoubtedly one of Nomos' quirkiest timepieces. At 38mm, it's 1.5mm larger than the Datum, but it still feels perfectly balanced¡ªperhaps even more so due to the more restrained dial. Eschewing the power reserve indicator, the Metro 38 Datum instead focuses on bringing symmetry to the design. We had an early look at this piece a few months ago, and seeing it in the metal certainly helped build our appreciation for what at the time felt like a curious addition to the lin
Hi All, I've got this cool Constellation that I'm in "tough choices" mode with. Looking for opinions. The watch keeps good time, but is filthy and needs what my local watch guy has phrased an "overhaul". I've known it was dirty for some time, so haven't worn it for weeks, just let it sit in the box looking pretty. The tough part of this is that my guy said that he doesn't believe the watch is worth the 550 that he'll charge me to do it. Of course, I'm certain that I'll eventually come off the money and go for it (unless one of you has a compelling argument why it may not be money well spent...) The choice part is several fold. 1) Is it okay to put it off until the fall, after we've spent money on vacation and all of that? It would sit in the box, unmoving until then. 2) Is it wise to have the face restored or replaced? The face is another discussion altogether, it's tres cool. Showed up with a nice blue in this photo (outdoor lighting), but normally looks totally black. Wh
I have dabbled in AP once before but ended up flipping my 41mm ROC for a Skydweller and have no regrets. That said it meant my collection turming 100% Rolex and with two GMTs I have got to thinking I would like a chrono. I would consider flipping one (216570 exp2) for a white face chronograph but not sure which - I found the RoC a scratch magnet and coupled with the countless stories of QC issues in other AP watches I was happy to get out and be done with AP but my wife has a lady oak and Millenary and I can't help but feel drawn back in. I wouldn't go bracelet but leather would be OK - any thoughts on Panda.?..
It had to happen one day! While I was putting on the watch, I accidently dropped it from about chest height. It fell face down on the tiles in the kitchen. The crown guard got dented and there is a crack on the glass at 6 o'clock.Went to Panerai 5 hours later and brought it in for glass replacement. Verdict = 200 USD. I specifically asked not go repair anything else, nor polish it. I like it when my watch looks rugged but I can't stand the glass being broken.I did however asked them to check if everything is alright with the movement. It kept time between dropping it and bringing it in, so I suspect no harm was done on the movement. They will do that free of charge.
Not looking to be provocative, just curious.
