At the?SIHH 2015 watch fair, German luxury watch brand A. Lange & Sohne unveiled three new models in its elegant, understated Saxonia collection. The new-generation versions of the Saxonia, Saxonia Automatic, and Saxonia Dual Time all feature subtly redesigned dials, with two models also sporting new case dimensions.Lange Saxonia watches ¡ª which, along with the iconic Lange 1, were launched 20 years ago as one of the brand’s original collections ¡ª remain a cornerstone of A. Lange & Sohne portfolio, thus the changes that Lange decided to make to these models’ aesthetics are very nuanced and precisely placed. For its new Saxonia dials, A. Those cheeky bastards over at Seiko, how they tease me. Long after the Seiko Spring Drive Spacewalk watch is announced to be sold publicly, they finally do so, and the price is a whopping $28,000. OK, so lets go back a second. While this article is being written before the Antiquroum auction on September 24th when the Seiko Spring Drive Spacewalk watch that Richard Garriot wore in space is being?? sold-off - by the time you read this the auction will have occurred and we will know just how much the watch went for. I have no idea what the price will be, but I think it will be around what this new edition of the watch will cost retail. Need help in identify this Constellation.
Got this from an Estate sale (Silent auction for charity) a while back. According to the gentleman that had it, it circa 1970 production with a caliber of 5xx (he wasn't sure). He said it had the piece serviced last year. Overall I would say it's in decent condition (Being a 40+ years old watch). I don't know how to open the caseback (Not a vintage watch person).Can anyone in the know-how tell me a bit more about this piece? I am thinking of selling it as I'm a diver kind of guy. Lots of flux going on in my collection, as I try to upgrade my vintage pieces. Last month I found a decent bumper that grabbed my attention. But alas, it fell by the wayside quickly. Well, how's this for a flip?A 1960 Seamaster DeVille - gold bezel & SS case, original hands, signed dial, crown, crystal on a front loading 611 17j manual wind. Everything except the strap & buckle is kosher! I'm stopping by my watchmaker next week and inquiring about a buckle to match.Now I just need one more vintage piece.....but who doesn't say that?
