- Great looking watch, but the clasp is very hard to open. I am always afraid I am going to break the bracelet every time I open it to take it off.

Baume & Mercier MOA wrist watches news:
Just picked up this Elgin. It's my first. Up to now have only acquired Hamiltons and a few Benrus'. But this forum has got me interested in other American watch brands of the Art Deco period.I liked the enamel bezel of this watch and the simple dial with a "waffle" type texture. Movement is a 556. I don't know anything about Elgin movements. Anyone have any info. on this watch or movement? I think its from the late 40's but not sure. thanksMark
