Audemars Piguet Announces New, Ultramodern Museum
Audemars Piguet, the oldest luxury watch company still owned by its founding families, has announced plans to extend its historic headquarters building to incorporate a new museum called the Maison des Fondateurs, a “radically contemporary” new structure that will be naturally integrated into the surrounding Vall¨¦e de Joux landscape.Audemars Piguet inaugurated its first museum in 1992 inside the original Audemars family home, and later expanded it to the entire house in 2004. Its collection includes more than 1,300 timepieces that are part of the brand’s heritage and span 250 years of history. This year, the museum enters a new, transformative phase. Audemars Piguet has enlisted the Copenhagen- and New York-based architectural firm BIG CPH to design the extension, which will add a new 25,800 square-foot structure incorporating exhibition spaces (where nearly 400 watches will be on display) as well as workshops, reception and meeting areas, and professionally conserved

From a general standpoint what is a ¡°standard¡± discount on a non ¡°demand¡± AP? I know some crazy sought after models and market fluctuations will change the norm, but in general what is a good discount from an AD vs grey seller?Thank you in advance.

Hesalite vs. sapphire crystal, help!
I'm adding a speedy to my humble Rolex collection. 3750.50 is a legend and you can clean the scratches off the crystal. But I hear the sapphire crystal is more practical?!

Bad Repair advice, common practice...?
I had some minor work done on my Rolex at a AD recently. One day when I picked up the Rolex I asked if the repair guy (watchmaker A) could fix the chrono function on my Omega Seamaster Olympics edition watch, which did nothing when I pushed the pushers. I gave it to him for a few minutes, he came back and said that he needed to send it out, as he wasn't familiar with the movement on that watch, and furthermore would have to send it out to Omega. He had it open for about five minutes, and the chrono still didn't work. I then took the watch to a trusted contact (watchmaker B), he looked at it for one minute and then asked if someone had recently worked on it. He indicated that someone had turned an adjustment screw all the way open, which had further complicated the problem. He fixed it in about two minutes applying the appropriate adjustments without changing any parts.Watchmaker B is certain that watchmaker A knew exactly what he was doing, as the movement is a very common chrono movem
