Incoming Vintage Seiko 6309-7290 automatic diver...Finally
Hello guys,Well finally after winning this grail over a month ago, she's on her way from the Seiko Service center in Tokyo Japan to me here in New York.She's an all original Seiko automatic 6309-7290 150m Diver from eons ago, but having been hardly worn at all by the Original owner & still showing some of the caseback decal remnants intact, it sure looks like a beauty. He sent the watch in for a service as described in his sales post and now she's on her way to my collection.If you know these watches, then you know that this is the slim tapered case model which comes in at a width of about 42.5mm without the crown & about 45mm including the crown.The height of the case is about 13mm, and the lug width is 22mm, with the lug to lug case length at about 45mm, with a weight of about 3 oz. (FYI, these are considered rarer than the larger cushion cased 6309-704X divers)They truely are a perfect size watch that have a great power reserve and the best crown action I've ever handled whi

Is My New Longines Flagship Watch within specification ?
Last Sat. I bought a brand new Longines Flagship automatic from a highly reputable store in Canada. Before purchase, the sales rep told me that I could expect it to keep time +/- 5 secs per day. Well I am now 2 days into owning it and it is + 23 secs fast per day. Now the rep is back peddling. I don't know what to expect. I know some high end watches ( eg Rolex ) keep time to within 5 secs / day. To me, a watch which cost nearly $2,000 should be able to do better than +23secs / day. What is the correct tolerance for a watch like this ?

It is always a pleasant surprise to receive private invitation from AP. You know you will be in for something exciting, refined and fun! This time, it was a night full of technical content befitting the haute horlogerie status of AP, a night of relentless showcase of pinnacle mechanical timekeeping technologies from the 138 years old Swiss watch powerhouse. ??The dinner venue was at a cozy Italian rstaurant called La Villa which is located just next to the AP Service Center.
