- This watch is beautiful and stylish, but as the previous reviewer pointed out, it does squeak. I decided to keep it because I love the way it looks for the price.

U-Boat 53-AB-4-2-A wrist watches news:
Welcome back to an original watches-dealer feature, "My First Grail Watch." In this series, we ask prominent people in the watch industry about the first timepiece that they lusted after. Today, we're speaking with Fiona?Kr¨¹ger, one of the newer independent watch designers to have caught our eye with her creations. ?She tells us about her First Grail Watch, which is the oldest Grail Watch we've featured.watches-dealer (ABTW): ?Who are you, and what is your relationship to the watch industry?Fiona Kr¨¹ger (FK): ?My name is Fiona Kr¨¹ger, and I am a young independent Scottish watch designer and producer working in Switzerland. I design and produce my own "Swiss Made" timepieces as well as collaborating with brands looking for a more emotional and unique take on watch design. I'm best known for my skull watches, which are produced in limited series.ABTW: ?When did your fascination with watches start?FK: ?When I came to Switzerland to do my Masters. I just got an awesome deal on a 112 from a buddy of mine who has a jewlery store and was drumming up cash for some stones...I must say it is growing on me and I kinda love it...I was wearing my Navitimer every day and my wife wanted it so now she is wearing it. Can you guys give me some insight on winding this watch. I haven't had a manual wind since I was a kid and it was obviously a junker.Seems it needs wound about every day and a half and I am also worried abt over winding it....any thoughts guys?Thanks-Navitimer (now wife's)-Rolex GMT II-now a Pam 112 :)
the mechanical and technical aspects of how a watch works. I love to collect watches and love to wear them but I am a dummy when it comes to their inner workings. Can anyone point me in the right direction of wear to read about how the mechanics of a watch work. Ie: what each parts specific job is and how are all the parts inter-twined? Any direction would be appreciated. I figured if Im building a collection and love wearing them I should at least know how they work. LOL thank you.
After having having used, almost exclusively, stainless steel dive watches for 20 years, the last 12 months I've started exploring a proper dress watch. At the same time, I feel that true dress watches such as ultra thins, too many complications etc are not really for me. I want something that is a bit simple, elegant and a tad sporty, at least a bit water proof to handle an unexpected dip in the water and one that is practical to use. I started looking at gold, e.g. some type of gold version of one of the Rolex watches I've been using for 15 years, but I find them often be a bit too yellow sometimes for my tastes and then I also really like the combo of gold on a leather strap, which further limited my Rolex choices. Before vacation a couple of weeks ago I had the chance to see a AP Royal Oak 15300OR at an AD for the first time and I was smitten by the design, appearance and comfort. It felt much more distinguished and mature than all the various divers I use, even the vintage ones. T
I know they are totally different watches but I'm going back and forth between these two.I have tried both on and even thought the 372 is 47mm, it felt just as comfortable if not more comfortable than the 312 case due to the thickness/height.The manual wind also seems a little more solid than the p.9000?For people that have had both. What do you think? It will be my only Panerai for the time being. I like the simplicity of the 372 but do you find it to be too big for an everyday watch? Thanks for helping me make up my mind!
