Baume & Mercier MOAO8550 wrist watches news:
from jewelrysuite101:The care taken in finishing the parts of a watch movement is manifold in purpose: aesthetically, the various brushing and chamfering techniques provide different patterns, textures and levels of reflective light; pragmatically, the finish is far less likely to corrode than it would be if left untreated; and abstractly, taking such an extreme degree of care in crafting parts that will never be seen is a reflection of the pride of artisanship, and it contributes to the ongoing sense of freemasonry among the artisans.
Dear All,This watch is a fake, the company which own the home-page state this, but can anyone tell me whether you could have spotted that this is indeed fake if it was not said in the page? Maybe I am too optimistic but I always thought that I could spot essentially any fake AP and most fake watches from known brands and indeed I usually can say at a glance what is wrong when some question about a watch appearing on the bay which happens to be fake appears but in this case I am struggling with this. Greetings TRF,After thinking a rather long time about the next timepiece I'd review I thought I'd give this model a try. Given that it is the only Grandes Complications model I've had the chance to actually handle and that it is a model I particularely love I think the choice was quite the no-brainer (besides, I hope one of our friends around here who happens to own one will chime in to give his opinion on it...).Today's review: the Patek Philippe 5159- The case: The watch's first forte, the officer's case is a wonderful asset of this timepiece. Everything on it gives you the feeling that you have a vintage watch on your wrist: the big round crown, the straight lugs with their screws replacing the usual springbars and, when you take a look on the other side, the gold hinged dust cover hiding the sapphire crystal case back that displays the movement. I must admit I used to feel a tad strange while looking at such lugs on watches as I thought they were cut too roughly off the case but th
