Finally, a solution for ill informed sales people at watch retail locations. Everyone who is not a watch lover is suddenly filled with scorn at this pretentious sounding remark, but let me explain. Buying a fine watch is an exploration not only into the image and heft of a watch, but a requires an explanation (or answers at least) into the movement, construction and heritage of watch. Sometimes the question is as simple as "what movement does it have, or how does it work?" Other times the question is more complex, and equally important; "why does the watch cost so much?" The vast majority of people selling watches do not know this information, and those that do quickly climb ranks out of customer service or sales positions. I thought¡­ Never heard of the brand, no idea what "Swihanic" means, but the look of the watch called out to me. It had a white face with a silver seconds dial that is positioned at 5 o'clock, two big crowns, and an internal bezel for a second time-zone. Certainly, for about $275 (new) it was worth a deeper look. When I saw that it featured a decorated hand-wound movement, called the GeMatic 0788 (which turns out to be a Unitas base) and had a domed sapphire crystal, I was sold. Question on leather strap
Hey guys have a question. I have a chronomat 47 and want to get a white leather strap for it but also use the Breitling deployment clasp. Called the AD today and unfort Breitling doesn't make a white leather in the size I need. Does anyone know of a place I can source such strap that will be compatible w the deployment clasp. Thank you guys in advance
