Baume & Mercier MOA08819 wrist watches news:
Who on earth ¡®needs' a watch with an altimeter? ¡®Wants' is a different matter. So there you are at 15,000ft, about to tip your Mk XVI Spit into a dive. ?You thumb the Merlin up to full boost then, casually – because you're that sort of chap – you glance down to check your aircraft altimeter against your watch's. Happens all the time, surely?Oris have made a watch with a mechanical altimeter. ?Why? ?What on earth is the point? ?You know what – the ¡®why' doesn't matter. ?After all, your local swimming bath is less than 3 metres deep, but you still wear a Sub. You probably don't own a Formula 1 car but you wear a Tag Heuer F1. ?Chances are you're not a pilot – but it doesn't matter either because this watch is an Industry First.Let's look at the background…The Oris Aviation Collection. ?Watches and aviation. ?It's really a bit of a conceit. ?Modern (and even older planes) have all the built-in gadgetry you need to fly. ?You need a watch when you fly like you n
Hello membersJust wondering if Rolex may release a new S/S Submariner with the new ceramic bezel at this yrs Baselworld? And if so would it mean that models like the LV edition would rise in value as the production would be stoppedCheers
I mostly hang out in the Rolex posts as the wife and I have 7 of their watches, but we are also Breitling owners. A few years ago, I purchased a Breitling Cockpit with a TT steel bracelet. It has been trouble-free watch and keeps great time and is well made.. I bought my Cockpit BNIB for a great price -45% off retail. I quite agree with the posters in other threads that it is a big error to buy a Breitling at retail. You take a big hit after the door closes.Breitling is also being slammed by some for using cheap ETA sourced movements, although they have recently started their own manufacture. Rolex, of course, has all their in-house movements tested by COSC standards, but so does Breitling who even provides the COSC certificate enclosed with their watches.I have a chance to purchase a BNIB Breitling for Bentley Mark V1 for a 60% discount. I have always been attracted to the Breitling Bentley line, as well as the actual vechicles they represent. I believe the watch should be termed NOS,
Ok mates I've finally narrowed it down to these two choices. Any enabling is appreciated. The 5296 appeals due to its size and simplicity. The dial looks great and I don't really have a need for a hidden case back. I think it would compliment my 5167 nicely even though it's the same movement. The 5396 appeals due to complications - although I don't have much use for any except the date and maybe the moon phase. The watch is somewhat chunky and obviously thicker than the 5296 which was somewhat of a turnoff. Also, the 5396 seems more dressy than the other. I could easily wear a shirt and shorts with the 5296 but would be harder to pull off with the 5396. Both bezels are prone to scratches also. Finally, I'm on the fence about the prong buckle with the 5296 vs. the fold over clasp with the 5396. Both are nice but the fold over would prevent the watch from being dropped. Any advice appreciated.
New to (any) forum, first time Rolex owner. Just picked up my new sub nd ref#114060 yesterday. Had initially thought I wanted the AK. I was drawn to the black dial and colorful wording. Saw the DJ 41 and nixed the idea of the AK. AD did not have the sub in stock and waited a week for them to get in stock. After comparing the DJ and sub, I went with what spoke to me-the sub. Coupled with endless research and many hours reading this very insightful forum, I feel like I made a well informed decision.
