U-Boat £¨DES-EC-REG:00443742-001£©in White Dial wrist watches news:
On May 30th, 2012 Christie's auction house in Hong Kong was host to the latest installment in their "Important Watches" auction series (which included a ton of watches). While this auction featured much of the normal fare from Panerai and Rolex, the main call for interest was an unparallelled representation of the Harry Winston Opus line. We have written of the Opus line in the past, but for those not in the know Opus is essentially a distinct line of Harry Winston timepieces which have been created in a collaborative partnership between Harry Winston and many of modern Horology's most talented independent watch makers. The concept behind the Opus collection comes from the powerhouse mind of Max Busser who ran Harry Winston's watch division before founding MB&F in 2004/2005. Harry Winston works with one independent watch maker per year to produce a limited edition watch which is then announced into the fan fare of BaselWorld. Though when the watches are actually released to custome
Linde Werdelin follows up its brand defining SpidoLite watch with the new SpidoLite II. The original model was interesting for taking the brand¡¯s Biformeter case and skeletonizing it. Skeletonized dials aren¡¯t particularly rare, but skeletonized cases are much less common ¨C especially in the way that Linde Werdelin does it.The original SpidoLite was designed to deconstruct as much of the case as possible to retain its strength ¨C but also offer an intriguing design. The SpidoLite (discussed more here), contained a vintage automatic movement that was specially restored and finished by the workshops of the talented Svend Andersen. The SpidoLite was followed-up with the SpidoSpeed Chronograph ¨C which is the where you might recognize the case design of the SpidoLite II to have originated from. Though I believe the SpidoLite II is a bit thinner at 15mm thick and 44mm wide. The case is does in titanium and will initially be offered in two versions. One version will be naked titanium while the
Hi all. I'm new to these forums so I hope i'm posting this in the right place. First I would like to say hello to everyone, hope to gain some knowledge about watches from you all if I can as i'm also newish to watch collecting. I'm primerily interested in vintage mechanical watches, and have a few nice examples such as :- Rado, Omega, Oris, Junghams, Faro to name a few. Recently though i've found whilst browsing ebay for mechanical watches that there are a lot of cheep mechanical watches comeing from Hong Kong. I've looked through quite a few listings and examined the photographs of these watches closely. THEY LOOK GOOD, I thought to myself. Mabe future collectors item's. But then I thought they probubly aint as good as they look, so I decided to buy one for the princely sum of 9 EUROS includeing postage. It took about three weeks to come and i'd totaly forgot that I had ordered it when it arrived. When I opened the package, I have to say that I was shocked and also amazed at
Well today I went for a little drive and decided to go into this local mall. They have an Omega AD there and to say the least they provided the royal treatment and was impressed. Spent quite some time in there getting catalogues from Tag Heuer (the new hard cover one), Baume & Mercier, and the 2008 Omega book. The salesman insisted I take them to have a look and see if anything catches my eye so what the hey. They now have the new SeaMaster as some of you may already know. The watch is the exact same but the dial and bezel insert are black like the 16610 Submariner. Take a look and sorry if some of those pictures came out a bit blurry.
I had 3 pams, 233 dot dial, 082 and 028, flipped and sold the 2 first rather quickly but strangely my 028 is still on sale after 10 months it's like new and though there have been offers they were ridiculous, is panerai loosing interest of watch buyers, was told this a few times, or is it this model or is the asking price of 7200 euros too high? Again the watch is like new, not a scratch apart from were the screw heads are as I did wear it a little and changed straps, but the DLC stopped any scratch. What do you guys think? Thanks
