MB&F HM5 CarbonMacrolon Watch
MB&F has a rule that they can't do anything like other brands - a policy that, for the most part, they are pretty good at sticking to. With this newest and third iteration of the Horological Machine No. 5 (HM5), they created a black-cased watch, not with a black coating over metal, but with a novel material they like to call "CarbonMacrolon." Thus, we have a dark version of the 1970s sports car inspired "driver's watch," paired with cool purple accents.The HM5 (reviewed here) is one of my favorite Horological Machines. In addition to being amongst the most affordable (really not saying much), it is also amongst the most wearable. A driver's watch, in the traditional sense, allowed the wearer to read the time at a glance from the side of their watch, with their hands on a steering wheel. The concept is probably about 100 years old, in some form or another, and while it doesn't necessarily apply today, the idea is interesting. I am not sure when the wedge-style driver's watch came ab

44 ROO strap change tools
Guys what tools do you use for strap changes?I've seen a few recommend the AP bands kit which is a Bergeon 1.4 screwdriver and their own brand 1.4 screwdriver block, is this kit any good?I know on my the Oyster bracelets they recommend hollow ground over the pointed so I use the ref:2100 rather then a standard Bergeon 1.6, is the tip type important on the AP?And I've never used a screwdriver block but guess it would be easier then trying to use two screwdrivers?Thanks in advance

New Speedmaster arrived today!
My first nice watch ever was a Reduced Speedmaster which I sold about ten years ago. I have always missed having a Speedmaster in my collection and today one arrived back home Model: SPEEDMASTER MOONWATCH OMEGA CO-AXIAL CHRONOGRAPH 44.25MM 311.30.44.51.01.002I like how the display crystal catches the sunlight and lights up under the watch. Never seen this before.
