Baume & Mercier Baume & Mercier 2679 wrist watches news:
[ad#image-med-rect]This may look like a pretty average watch, but in actuality it represents years of effort. This is one solid circular LCD (liquid crystal display) screen, something that is very hard to do. It also displays 262,000 colors, unlike the monochromatic watch LCDs that you are used to.In the past, all LCD panels needed to be square or rectangular. For years, efforts have been made to give LCD screens more organic shapes, but the nature of their construction made this almost impossible. That left us with boring little screens on our Casio watches.Color LCD panels are nothing new, but there is little to no color LCD penetration on watch displays. This is due to the necessity for backlighting, which would require frequent battery changes or charging. New technologies are changing this, and what you see is a clear representation of what we can come to expect in the upcoming years. On that note,? new types of LCD (and of course OLED; organic light emitting diode) require less o
Montblanc has just announced this one via Facebook: montblanc/montblanc_n...the_collectionExclusive Facebook Preview:Montblanc Nicolas Rieussec Chronograph AutomaticFor aficionados of mechanical movements with automatic winding, Montblanc is now presenting the self-winding calibre MB R200. Dear all,I've got a nice little collection consisting of:- Breitling Intruder (quartz) - my first Swiss watch which gets thoroughly abused without any worries what so ever. Never missed a beat.- Rolex GMTIIc - my daily wearer that I swim in, take on holiday to the beach, in the shower sometimes, etc. My thought was Rolex can always polish it to near perfection during service, so I should give it plenty of wrist time and not worry about the scratches etc.- Patek 5146G - This is my pride and joy which gets a lot of wrist time during office hours, fancy dinners, and any other time I know it'll live a stress-free life!I got the GMT when it first came out so it's probably due for a service. Dangerously, this has gotten me thinking that another Patek might be in order, and I may have to waive good bye to the GMT (has to be worth what I paid for it or more?). The reasons being:- I'm kind of over the Rolex thing. As much as I think they're great watches, they're a little too flashy for my tast
