Baume et Mercier 10004 wrist watches news:
Hi all,Although being a fan of watches and movements, I had never heard of Hamilton. Until last week!Sadly my grandfather past away in December. When visiting my grandmother last week, she asked me: “Aren’t you interested in watches? Your grandfather has a watch which hasn’t ran for 10 years, but is I very nice brand I believe. If you want you can have it.”The watch turned out to be a Hamilton Fontainebleau purchased for 495 guilders (I’m Dutch , at the time 250 dollars) in 1975. After Googling Hamilton, the Fontainbleau, Caliber 11, electrics, etc….a new Hamilton fan was born! Maybe this is common knowledge, but the Caliber 11 movement is the first automatic chronograph movement ever made. It was developed by a consortium of various brand: Hamilton/Breitling/Hauer/Buren. A very interesting clockwork that changed the business. For more info: google caliber 11.Although delighted with this inheritance, that has a very high emotional value for me, I am
One of my friends, a TV meteorologist says that summer begins June 1 so since we are now in meteorlogical summer, do you have Hamilton's that you like for summer or hot weather wearing? Of course, it you reside in the southern hemisphere, I'll ask the same for winter watches. As a general rule, I steer clear of straps on hot days and I go for something different or cool. I am awaiting delivery of what I think will be a Hamilton that will get a lot of summer wearing. Pix when it arrives.
Can anyone tell me about this time piece? It isn't technically a watch but it is my first Breitling time piece. I posted this in the Breitling forum but wasn't able to get any help there so I'm trying the general forum. I plan on using it extensively since I work in a laboratory and am constantly timing tests. Any knowledge would be helpful. I know absolutely nothing about it, even value. I recently won it on Ebay. Thanks my fellow WISs'...:D (I will have more pictures including the movement when it arrives via UPS on the 6th)
Hi All,Not sure what's going on but the price of these sets seem to be dropping. I own the set and was going to keep the Daylight and maybe try and sell the Black Seal to recoop some of the money paid for the set. The blacky is the more popular of the 2, which is great for me, as I wanted a Panerai with a white face. But I see a few sets out there, and they don't seem to be selling. Do you all think the modern Panerai's are getting soft in the marketplace.thanks for reading
As a happy new owner of a Blue SS Sky Dweller, I wanted to post a couple of pictures to compare it vs my BLNR GMT and the SD43 for reference.By the way, I am extremely happy with the new Sky Dweller. It has a level of refinement and elegance that I consider above any of the other SS Rolex I've had before. And regarding the size, I don't think it feels that much bulkier or bigger than the GMT. It does pop more, and definitely grabs your attention!
