Sotheby’s to Auction Rare Patek Philippes Owned by Henry Graves Family
In December 1999, Sotheby¡¯s made watch-auction history. The auction house sold the so-called Henry Graves Supercomplication ¡ª a pocketwatch originally commissioned from Patek Philippe by noted watch collector Henry Graves, Jr., and which featured 24 complications ¡ª for an astounding $11,002,500, still the world record for any timepiece at auction. Last week, Sotheby’s announced that it will hold a single-owner sale on June 14, 2012 in New York that will include more rare watches from the collections of Graves and his grandson, Reginald “Pete” H. Fullerton, Jr., a noted collector and connoisseur in his own right.The auction, called Watches from the Collection of the late Reginald H. Fullerton, Jr. and his Grandfather Henry Graves, Jr., will comprise a group of 13 pieces collected by Graves that have never before been published or appeared on the market, as well as a group of 42 wristwatches and an important Knibb Grande Sonnerie Long Case Clock, assembled by Fullerton

Damasko DA47 bezel and crystal ?'s
Hello to all!I am mulling another German tool watch ( I have a Sinn EZM3 right now ). I am eyeballing several options from Sinn, as well as the Damasko DA47. Here in the States, we have to buy sight unseen, so there are no options to check the watches out in the metal prior to purchase. I want to know the following: is the DA47's crystal truly flat, or slightly domed? I've seen pics that look to be domed, and specs that suggest it is flat. I also would like to have a sense of the bezel rotation action. Is it firm, loose, sloppy, tight, or what? How would you describe it? I ASSume it is not a friction bezel. True?Thanks.

About ready to take the plunge later this year and buy the 15710 from my local AD and i could do with you guys to help tip me over the edge. Would love to know your thoughts on the Diver and if you have/had one what its like for a daily and all the pros and cons. Please do feel free to throw some pictures below too!

Black Deepsea to be discontinued?
It used to be that the case size for the Sea-Dweller and the Sea-Dweller Deepsea were markedly different. But now that the Sea-Dweller has jumped from 40mm to 43 ¡ª just 1mm below the Deepsea, could the black Deepsea be at risk of being discontinued? Sure, depth ratings are different for both watches, but the Deepsea is essentially a niche watch, a niche that can be easily filled with the James Cameron. How many prospective buyers will look at the 43mm Single Red Line Sea-Dweller and decide on the black Deepsea instead because, hey, 4000ft just doesn¡¯t cut it?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
