Oris 01.674.7625 wrist watches news:
Maybe there's nothing, and your Oris is perfect in every wayBut.perhaps there is something you don't like about your watch, or something you just wish they'd changed to make your watch that much better...I'll start off. I LOVE my Diver Date. It does everything a diver should, and more. The only thing that could improve it might be if the straps weren't so proprietary. Because of the lug design, you can only have one SS bracelet and one rubber strap. No mix and match with other straps and bracelets to change things around a bit.Fortunately the Oris strap & bracelet look so good it's not the end of the world, but I'd like the choice if I so wished....I know, pretty minor really. And if that's the worst thing I can think of, it just confirms how good the Oris watches are (IMHO.. )Any one else have something they don't like / would prefer changed?
What's with the little canteen lid looking cap on the crown of the Frogman series? Is it functional or purely cosmetic? My guess is that it functions as a "screw down crown".
I finally found a plain cushion cased Hamilton that I could afford. It of course comes with the requisit problems and questions. First the pictures so you can think as I go along.First: condition issues I can handle. The movement is only good for parts but I have a couple of others in better shape as replacements. The dial and hands I can live with after some cleanup. The crystal has a chip but doesn't hurt the readability for now.Second: I am hoping that a forum member has a case boneyard and can sell me a useable back to complete the case. The bezel is good with one little spot of wearthru on the bottom right corner. I could also use a source for a crown. I have one that fits OK but it's yellow gold. Questions: I have seen cushions with and without the crown sunken into the side. Are these different models or just different years?I can't find any references to the 987F movements in the catalogs or in production numbers (Just a few comments that the F indicated a switch to friction fi
Round dial, hour markers, date at 3:00...one might reasonably mistake this for an Omega.
I saw a post on here that raised an interesting perspective. Luxury watches vs a luxury car. As men we all tend to like or desire luxury items such as cars and watches to say the least. I wanted ask the question of which item is the better VALUE? Notice I did not say better price. I am looking to see if someone can express or quantify the long term difference between the two Luxury items. My 2 examples:1st A pre owned AP Carbon may cost between $19k to $33k. In 10years of average wear and servicing it will be worth how much? 2nd A pre owned Porsche 911 may cost between $45k to 75k. In 10years of average wear and servicing it will be worth how much? I hope I explain my questions to you guys thoroughly. I am in the process of buying a car and I would like to buy my first AP by the holiday time. I am thinking of buying a Porsche but I think long term the AP is a better value.Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
