New to AP. Looking at buying new blue dial RO
Hey everyone. Id really like to get a hold of a blue dial Royal Oak but know not a lot about them. From my understanding I would need to buy from a boutique with my nearest being in France. I did email them but they did not reply. Are these items on a long waiting list or fairly easy to purchase? Eg. Buying a sub vs trying to buy a Daytona ceramic. I have spotted a few models which appear to my newbie eye to be similar eg. Jumbo and 15400. 39mm and 41mm. Am I mixing a lot of things up here with new references and old?After reading these appear to be more delicate than SS Rolex models. I am careful at the best of times but how often should a new RO be serviced and what is the normal cost for this. Ive seen blue dial new unworn watches for ¡ê14000 or there abouts. This is my latest acquisition. A PP 3541, an automatic Cal 27-460From my research, It was produced from 1960 to 1968. I have found many of these REF in a variety of dial configurations; However, I have never found one with a BLACK dial, nor with three baton marker.My question is did I just stumble across the ultra rare? Or I did just throw my $$$$ out the window?

I was walking around today in HK and stopped by a grey seller shop here in HK that I use to frequent but hadn't been in for quite some time. BOOM...there it was in the glass window display. A Patek 5970j brand new. The owner told me he has another one that is 99% condition. Price seems to be very attractive and ~$30k below what I've seen advertised by sellers in the states. With the used one being $10k less than the new one. Question I am debating now is whether to trade in a bulk of my collection to obtain this monster! I would need to sell the following to make the numbers work:(1) Rolex WG skydweller(2) Rolex platinum day date 2(3) AP RG ROO 44mm novelty(4) AP 15202 jumboThis would leave me with:(1) Patek 59801r(2) Patek 5970j(3) Rolex DSSD(4) Rolex YG GMT2cWould you do it?
