Baume et Mercier 10027 wrist watches news:
This is the UTTE watch by Arnold & Son, and apparently it is the world's thinnest tourbillon. The trend of watches getting ever chunkier year after year seems to live on without disturbance - but the race for the ultimate in finesse and subtle elegance can be just as stirring as well and the manufacture of Arnold & Son is here to prove that point by releasing something to excite those who admire such fine treats of horology. With their ?double-balance?and earlier on with the?inside-out?watches they made it pretty clear that they are everything but?shy when it comes to reaching beyond the strict frontiers of fine watch making. Now, however, they have ventured onto violent waters, proudly possessed by one of the ultra-thin greats: Piaget.Technical extravagance is sometimes easier to achieve than creating something strictly abiding rules and borders - and when one sets himself to the challenge of originating something that's ultra-thin (the thinnest ever, in fact), suddenly those
GreetingsEnclosed is a picture of 3 Hamilton Vancotts. The Vancott was the first scheduled production watch for Hamilton in 1946 after WW2. What is interesting about this watch is that there were 2 different versions of the same model: a 10k solid gold bezel w/ a stainless steel back, and a solid 14k gold case version. This is only the second 14k version I have ever seen. In the attached picture, the watch in the middle is the 14k version, and the watches on either side are the 10k styles. The watch on the left has had the dial refinished and the other 2 are all original, I believe. Will Roseman is one who is credited with the re-discovery of this model and is the source of the above information, and the person who got me interested in the Vancott.I do have a question for Will or anyone who knows: The crown on the 14k version is different that the other two. Is this correct? Thanks for looking.
Hey guys, been looking for a new watch to add to my collection. I currently have two Invcitas, a blue dial swiss automatic and a swiss quartz chronograph. I have been bored of them lately. SoI have been searching around for my next watch and I came across the Orient brand. I liked the companies story and their styling so I took a chance and ordered a CFA05001B. It's their new model and I liked it cause it had a normal second hand. So, did I make a good choice? Is this a good brand to own? I really want an Omega Seamaster but right now this was in my budget. Here's what it looks like (not taken by me, I'll post some photos of mine later tonight):
According to Watch Time magazine, the hands and screws on the bezel are made of white gold. Anyone know if this is true? If it is, why would they bother making these in white gold?
Looking to purchase my first panerai and I seem to lean to these 2 models the best. I like the beige coloring on the 630's markers and hands, even don't mind the ETA movement in it since it will make any fixes easier down the road (i could be wrong.)The 114 is the predecessor and has screw down straps whereas the 630 doesn't, any thoughts from the panerai veterans?
