Bedat & Co 315.030.100 wrist watches news:
Hi,My usual home is over on the Bulova/Accutron Forum. I am a collector of Accutrons and have grown fond of the Accuquartz caliber. To-date I have acquired 11 Accuquartz watches and two movements. BTW, I also have a Titus with the f300. My latest "Accuquartz" movement arrived in the mail today. As seen from the pics, it is a Beta21, first gen, that was marketed by Bulova only in 1971 - the year before they introduced their own caliber 224x movement. The movement was described "As Is" and not working. It had an original #313 watch battery installed. When I replaced that battery with a fresh silver oxide battery, the movement immediately began to vibrate! Yahoo, it's alive. Thought that may be possible but not expected. I don't really plan to find a Bulova case as they were all 18K and most of the few ever produced are long gone to the refinery. I wish to have the movement to display with my 224x Accuquartz watches. I would like to have a stem and crown. I don't really care about the crow
OMEGA SpaceMaster Z-33.jpgWhen I see this OMEGA Spacemaster Z-33, I shout "Wow, it's a watch from outer space!" but a friend beside me said , "No! It's a watch from hell..." and we both laughed out loud. One simple Question in my thought"Is the watch really that 'scary',or it was just shot and edited by a genius the photographer?" hahahahaha. All I know is just having a day dreaming of having this watch fiuh
Today is the 236th Birthday of the United States Marine Corps! (November 10, 1775 - November 10, 2011)Here's wishing all past current & future USMC veterans a very honorable Happy Birthday of remembrance, and may we keep our troops here and overseas in our prayers...We've accomplished much in the last year & may the tensions in the world that affect our land, citizens and interest be protected on our shores and off, and may we all have a rememorable Veterans Day tomorrow 11/11/11.usmc creed statue.jpg Semper Fi, Jim
Today I received this SWI. (photo borrowed from the shopping channel)This was an OTV and the price doubled when the event was over. It came with a free alligator strap and a free watch winder. Here are my first impressions. The dial, hands, and case are beautiful. Excellent F & F.The bracelet, while great looking has 2 problems. 1. Some of the links are a little sticky so they get kinked and have to be forcibly straightened. 2. The deployant clasp is hard to snap closed and has a cheap sounding click when it does. The (free) alligator strap is very cheap looking. I have some leather straps with alligator print or embossing that look better than this one. It feels better than it looks. The (free) watch winder is mostly white with S-W-I in huge letters on the front. Not exactly designed to blend in with most furniture. I haven't plugged it in yet. But, I think I'm going to keep it. More to follow after I size it and wear it. And see how accurate it is.
I am wearing my Speedy on leather today..And you?
