We would like to remind New York City and surrounding area residents that July 25th, 2013 is the evening of the watches-dealer & Girard-Perregaux Summer Soiree event at the Girard-Perregaux Boutique on Madison Avenue. The event begins at 6pm and continues at the adjacent Club Macanudo next door at 8pm. We have a bit more room for guests at the boutique, and anyone unable to get a space can join us at Club Macanudo.All the relevant details can be found here when we announced our evening of horological entertainment with Girard-Perregaux. I'm told this Omega has an interesting story...
Supposedly Omega omitted the co-axial escapement blurb on the dial of some their initial production runs of their then new movement...this might be one example...btw, I will endeavor to clean up my 'daily drivers' before I photograph them in the future!!!

SDDS height/thickness
I have been trying to find information on the web on the height/thickness of the SDDS, but only found a few guesses 16-17mm.However, if you look at attached picture downloaded from Rolex website - you can see that the 2 red lines I have added have the same length. And this would indicate a thickness of 43/2 = 21.5mm!I guess we'll just have to wait to somebody actually measuring the beast. And then I can decide if I want to upgrade from my SD...Remi
