I have a 5 year old Chronomat 44 Flying Fish that just stopped running and is also now out of warranty. Sent into Breitling by my AD. My AD was notified by email that there was some damage to the crown and that full service would be necessary. The quote was for over $900 to fix. The AD asked if I had ever damaged the watch and I assured them that I did not aside from a few scratches here and there but nothing very traumatic IMO. This is my only Breitling and first time for servicing. I have to say that I was a little shocked at the cost. Does the amount sound about right for a Breitling service and crown replacement? Thanks
Hi all,We have an opportunity to visit Geneva for a day in a few weeks while on a European vacation. It's not in our agenda and will involve a fly in/out on the same day. So my questions are: is it worth it? Does the store have a huge variety (ie a blue 5711?)? Are watches a good buy in Switzerland? Thanks in advance!!
A couple months ago I bought the 116500LN black Daytona in stainless. I find it difficult to read the time at a glance. Rather than trade it in on a white one -- how does one go about getting the dial changed from black to white? Not wanting anything special about the replacement dial --- just white. What would that cost if you go through an AD? Would doing that void the Rolex warranty even if done by an AD?
Watches have always been a style statement and makes anybody excited, and I would wear all of them with pride as a kid. My first, when I was 6-7, I remember was a cheap quartz(few dollars) with brown leather band gifted to me by mom. But then I wore it out and it finally broke. I didn't knew much about watches and quartz or digital watches were the only thing available. The most famous watch you could buy was Citizen or Casio in the Himalayan Nation.Fast forward some decades, I started looking up watches again and then got hooked on to the mechanical watches' simple way of showing time, using complicated mechanical thing. Honestly, I didn't even knew that was possible. Something about those moving gears, and all the other parts, working together to make the second hand sweep so smoothly, and you just fall in love with them. I did hear about Rolex and would have never imagined to buy one! Then, I saw one on my colleagues wearing a Rolex GMT with black dial and bezel. It was a piece of pe
