Besides their well known Pontos line,?Maurice Lacroix has a great number of interesting watches in their Masterpiece line.?We previously covered the Masterpiece Roue Carr¨¦e Seconde watch a few years ago which has square and cloverleaf gears indicating the seconds. For 2014, The Masterpiece collection gets a model known as the Gravity which is a uniquely appealing piece from the brand.Maurice Lacroix has extended their haute horologerie "Masterpiece" line with the "Masterpiece? Gravity" which features a large balance wheel on the dial as part of an in-house made movement. According to Maurice Lacroix, this is the first watch equipped with an oscillator assortment (balance roller, lever and escapement wheel) entirely made of silicon, which has a lighter weight than metal and no need for lubrication. What's not to like with an escapement that promises greater accuracy, less maintenance, and more resistance to magnetic fields? Twenty years from now we will probably be shocked if watches don

A gorgeous ceramic case houses the black dial of this watch. At 12:00 on the dial you can find the Versace logo proudly displayed. This is covered up by a scratch-resistant crystal, a technology that this company helped to pioneer.
Every couple of weeks I wind my vintage watches to keep the oils from becoming gummy. I decided to set them all to the correct time and see which ones were the most accurate. I didn't include any quartz or watches that have never been serviced. About 35 watches were used including Hamilton, Benrus, Vulcain, Bulova, Omega, Lucerne, Waldman..No auto Rolex's were tested either. After about 24 hours all but one were within a couple on minutes of one another. The only fly in the ointment was a 1950 Hamilton Lambert which was 10 minutes fast!!! It was purchased several years ago and was serviced. Maybe there's an adjustment for F/S. Other than the Hammy, I was pretty impressed with the accuracy of the 50+ year old watches. Any similar experiments???
Hi,I have a Speedmaster and am considering moving from the steel bracelet to a leather strap for office wear. I'm thinking of either black with white stitching or some shade of brown croc with matching stitching.Anyone here have pictures of theirs that they would care to share with us?Thanks and cheers!
