What is with this ebay vendor: sphynx_watch_company placing orange dots etc on the dials of the watches they're auctioning? Here's an example: item 331482076542
I always notice the number of members and non-members here. Those of you who are not registered, get with it. As you can probably tell this is one great place to talk about, read about, and learn about watches. Your contributions are welcome and registration takes about 2 minutes.Hope to see your names here soon.DH
Hi everyone, I'm looking into buying from my first AP - a 15400. I have a few other watches (Rolex, Panerai, Ulysse Nardin, etc), but this will definitely be my biggest purchase.I'm curious to learn more about going with a TFF dealer who typically offer the 2+1 year warranty versus the AP Boutique's 5-year warranty. The boutique told me that 5-year warranty covers the first service, which typically runs around $1300. Is that service really necessary within the first 5 years? Rolex recommends the first service after 10 years.Anything else I should be aware of? Is adjusting the bracelet myself relatively simple? There are only two ADs near me. Once has terrible customer service so I won't even bother going there, and the other will be bummed I didn't buy from them, so I'd rather do it myself if I don't go through the boutique.
Found this list of serial numbers and which year, on the Watchfinder UK site: Omega Serial Numbers. Brian
My thoughts recently is I would like to try another yellow gold Rolex for a little fun. I owned the 116618lb and it was great (I have even considered looking for another). However, truth be told I want something a little bigger. My wrist is only 7 inches but I guess the 40mm case just feels a little small recently - I have been wearing a lot of AP 41 and 42mm recently so that makes sense.I think a SD43 in YG/WG or even platinum would be an amazing edition to the Rolex lineup. There is no 42-43mm sports model in the Rolex line in PM (only the YM at 44mm). Seems like it wiould fill a GAP (I am considering the skyD as a dressier watch like the DD40).what do you think?
