Bell & Ross BR-01-94 ORA wrist watches news:
Hello all. Total n00b here. So flog me mercilessly if I'm out of line.I received the generous gift of a 5196 from my in-laws when I brought their first grandson into their life :) First grand child altogether as a matter of fact. Anyway I was told I needed to wear it as my everyday watch, so I wore it for approx 365 days straight, then decided it was time to retire it for special occasions. It's a beautiful watch, no doubt about that- I've received two or maybe three compliments on it due to the fact that the Patek name isn't terribly well known among those that aren't watch enthusiasts (the first time I heard the name is when I opened the box)- however, I don't think it is the one I would have picked as my daily piece. Having said that, if I had to pick a watch that will be a family heirloom (which this one is intended to be), I can't think of a more classic design. I suck at photography, and have no idea how to use my camera, so I just took a comple snaps the other day, and w
Hey guys !Most of you guys know that I pretty much only work on watches from the WWI period but today was a bit different!I've been time warped up to the 1950's ! ! ! ! !I bought this watch 11 months ago at the NAWCC Auburn Regional but just now got around to it.The iconic circa 1952 Lord Elgin Black Knight ! ! ! ! !One of the main reasons that I bought this piece is because of the condition of the case, dial and hands, SUPERB CONDITION.The case does NOT have any gold fill wear spots!!!I polished the case and it now appears to be glowing, that 14k gold filled looks awesome ! ! !The movement inside this Lord Elgin was toast, somebody tried to do a repair and just caused more damage by the looks of it.So, I replaced the entire movement with a freshly serviced later model, same 21 jewel 680 movement just made at a later date.I think that this wrist shot just might be one of the best that I have ever taken ! ! ! !
I was wondering whether there are any simple chronographs in a reasonable price range (say less than 5000 US$ to have some more options but really I am thinking more in the 2000 US$ region). By simple chronograph I mean something like the Omega Chronostop with no subdials and the possibility to stop the second hand, I think Citizen and Seiko also made watches with the same function, or maybe one with just one subdial, perhaps with two hand in the subdial like the latest PP Nautilus (but not at that price!) but not more than that. Chronographs with two or three small dials are very common but these seem to have gone out of fashion some time ago but I would really like something like that as I like he chrono function but that usually all the small hands make the face too busy for my taste.GLF
Hi everyone,I know there has been a glut of jumbo related threads of late, and I apologize for adding to it.. Thing is I have always wanted to acquire an RO Jumbo to replace my ROO Panda, but have always hesitated as the bracelet seems too stiff at the lugs, leaving big gaps between the wrist when I tried it on at the boutique.Today I managed to try on a pre owned older version 15202, and the dealer was kind enough to size the bracelet for me. See picsAnd a Panda pic for comparisonMy question is this.. Do you think the Jumbo is too big for my 6 inch wrist? Weirdly the Panda wears better due to the pliable leather strap. Also would the newer Jumbo be less or more wearable for me? Am more keen on that as I like the blue dial and the position of the AP logo. All thoughts appreciated, really want and hope to join the club!
Hi, I'm a new member here. I've tried to do some research in this forum lately. sadly, I can't find the decent thread about the navitimer. What series are there, price range, and more importantly how to differentiate between the fake and real (I don't want to get screwed for my first breitling purchase)? please enlighten me. thanks in advance!
