Cable Meets Cobra: David Yurman’s New Shelby 1000 Sports Watch
Watch-and-jewelry designer David Yurman, famous for his signature cable bracelet, has teamed up with muscle-car?visionary Carroll Shelby, creator of the legendary Shelby Cobra, to create Yurman’s first limited-edition sports watch, the David Yurman Revolution Shelby 1000.The Shelby watch, which is available in two case versions ¡ª one in stainless steel and one “all-black” model with black PVD ¡ª? is the centerpiece of David Yurman’s recently introduced family of sports watches, called Revolution. It celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Shelby American brand, founded by Carroll Shelby, which produced the Cobra and other high-performance sports cars that tore up the worldwide auto racing circuit in the 1960s and early 1970s. Patek Philippe Nautilus Chronograph Ref. 5980 Watch
New Patek Philippe watches for 2010 didn't exactly make me jump for joy, but I did like the two new additions to the Nautilus collection. No new movements, but new implementations in the Nautilus cases. Here is the Nautilus Chronograph (ref. 5980 in steel and 5980R in gold), and I also liked the Nautilus Annual Calendar Ref. 5726 that I wrote about here. What I like about the layout of the Patek Philippe Caliber CH 280520 C is that is it is a 12 hour chronograph that looks like a watch with only a subsidiary seconds dial (more or less) - and is still easy to read. The Planet Ocean Collection was first launched in 2005 and has become a mainstay, in the last 10 years, of Omega's sports watch collections. This year Omega has released a brand new Planet Ocean 45.5 mm Chronograph, with a new co-axial chronograph movement (METAS/Master Chronometer certified, a first for Omega chronographs) and in new materials.
