For 2012 Israeli watch maker Itay Noy does it again with an interesting timepiece design that both intrigues and confuses a bit. It is called the DiaLOG watch and according to the brand offers more than one way of reading the time (it took me a little while to find just one of them). I have to say that in the scheme of busy and confusing dials, this is one of the most attractive ones out there!The case design of the DiaLOG is carried over from models such as the X-Ray from last year. The dial is what is new - as well as the crown. Itay Noy increased the size of the crown to better accommodate winding the manually-wound Swiss ETA Unitas 6498-1 mechanical movement. I figured I would share my one and only beef with the Omega brand in the hope that someday, someone at Omega will read this and decide to fix it.The Omega watch is a fantastic, high quality, handsome timepiece. Easily on par with, or exceeding other high end brands.Materials, finish and attention to detail are first rate and you get tremendous value for your money.If it wasn't for the link pins and lack of fine adjustment in the clasp I would be able to buy and wear this brand. Let me explain.For my wrist, it is impossible to get the bracelets to fit so that I can wear the watch in the hot / cold climates I travel to frequently. Seiko SKA-429?
I want to get my brother a new watch because about 12 years ago I got him this Seiko (below-don't know the model) as a graduation present and recently it crapped out on him or something because he's been wearing some ugly piece of junk and this SKA-429 is exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for and the style that would look good on him. He's definitely into the blue dial and I like the kinetic feature but my real question is, I've searched the web for any information, comments, reviews or anything on the SKA-429 watch but there's nothingall I can find out is that it's sold out in a lot of places and the places I do see it, it's 40% off so it's about $200. Is it a discontinued model? Is it a decent watch? Is it a piece of junk? The other thing is that some sites list it as 41mm and other 45mm so I was wondering if maybe there are similar models in both sizes?So, if anyone has any info on the watch it'd be appreciated.
