The Swiss watch brand JEANRICHARD has often been in the shadow of its better-known sister brand in the Sowind Group, Girard-Perregaux. However, with the introduction of three revamped collections ¡ª the classical 1681 Ronde and the sporty Highlands and Aquascope ¡ª the brand is making a move to establish its own distinct identity.The 1681 Ronde, described by JEANRICHARD as the most “elegant” and “traditional” of the three families, is named for the year in which the brand’s namesake, pioneering watchmaker Daniel JeanRichard, manufactured his first watch. Breitling BlackSteel - An overview
Breitling introduced their first BlackSteel, using the SkyLand model, in 2008. Since then several BlackSteel models have been brought out. These are all limited editions and include the Super Avenger BlackSteel (featured here), the Avenger SeaWolf Chrono BlackSteel and the BlackBird BlackSteel. BlackSteel describes any watch in the Breitling catalogue that has a Steel case and has a DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) black finish using PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition). DLC offers hardness, smoothness and high levels of wear resistance. PVD is used to describe any material bonding process using condensation by vaporising the coating material. This can be achieved in a few ways but Breitling use high temperature vacuum evaporation. The process is very similar to electroplating. AP boutique charges $200 to ship to APSC
So my watch (<1 year old, still under warranty) was losing about 25 seconds per day, and it was driving me nuts. I stopped by the AP boutique in Beverly Hills, CA to have it sent in for adjustment. The sales associate informed me there was a $200 shipping charge (round trip) to have it overnight Fedex'd to Clearwater, FL. I'm trying to figure out if that's a normal charge? Given the watch is under warranty, I would have thought the $200 shipping charge is something AP would absorb. Thoughts?
