- Very elegant looking in addition to a face that is easy to see. The clasp took a few extra minutes to figure out but it is very nice and easy to use once you get the hang of it. Good value too. I would highly recommend this watch.

Breguet 5140ba/29/9w6 wrist watches news:
Here is a little one I have been looking to do for a LONG Time. The Atlantic or Riley is more properly called an Atlantic because the 1936 Illinois Materials Cataloguerefers to the dial as such in Fred Friedberg's wonderful book The Illinois Watch, the life and times of a great American Watch CompanyIf you don't have a copy, grab one!It has everything you need to know about these fantastic watches! There are a bunch of these Generic period watches around and they can be seen in the wildfrom makers like Elgin and Waltham.I have found them over the years and the dials can be found in NOS condition easier than most. There are neat "Special Names" on some of the dials, perhaps to draw some interest to an otherwiseGeneric looking Illinois...There are also some harder to find, very cool "Enamel Bezel" versions floating aroundthat can make this entry level Illinois cost a whole lot more. These are called "Atlantic Enamel"FJF Notes:Period: GenericCase Makers: Fahys, Wadworth, Illinois Case Co., Ot
I found this 1958 Lord Elgin DuPree needed some care and polish. The hands had some rust looking goo on them, good thing I was able to remove it and the gold/brass came back to life.
Hello...I am new to this forum and recently acquired an oval ladies Longines watch which is lovely. I am hoping someone can help me identify the model and get some idea as to value. As a Tag Heuer guy, I know nothing about the Longines watch models, particularly for ladies. As you can see from the posted pix, this is an oval sort of watch w/ a yellow 14K gold case. On the front it has Longines near the center-top of the face below the bar for 12 and the word "SWISS" below the bar for the 6. On the back of the watch case it has what appears to be a Longines logo and the words 14K GOLD. On the clasp you can read the words: KESTENMADE 1/20 10K GF USA.It appears to be a manual watch and it is not running. I know nothing about the proper method to open the case and do not want to try. Does anyone recognize this watch model? (I hope I have attached these files correctly!)Any advice would be greatly appreciated. THANKS! Need advice on the size and their differences especially for the XS and S sizes please. Thank you so much. Currently mine measures at 80/120 mm. What is this size?
Just curious on how the TRF members feel about reselling. I am not talking about worn pieces; but rather currently offered Rolex models for sale from private individuals that were purchased for the exclusive purpose of reselling for a profit. Is the grey dealer any different than a private party doing the same thing (reselling)? Is reselling a new thing? Is it short lived? How do you see it affecting watch collecting as it used to be?I am newer to the forum so I am NOT trying to step on toes; just wondering how the members and/or collectors view this in the watch world.
