Antoine Martin Slow Runner Watch Has Largest Escapement
For 2013, Martin Braun's watch brand Antoine Martin will release their third major timepiece collection with the Slow Runner. Martin explained the concept of the Slow Runner to me last year by telling me that he was producing a simple watch with a huge slowly moving balance wheel. He sure wasn't kidding. If you've ever seen the balance wheel of old clocks operating, you know that there is a sort of hypnotic quality to seeing them move back and forth at a one hertz speed. Martin has successfully produced that experience for a wrist watch.Antoine Martin likes to point out that the Slow Runner is a "true" one hertz operating movement. What does that mean? Another popular watch that is of a similar vein is the Dutch Gronefeld One Hertz watch. That watch indeed had a second hand moving at one hertz, but the escapement was faster. Montbrillant packaging question
My wife gave me a new Montbrillant Legende LE for Xmas. It was all complete except for the cardboard(?) white wheel (e6b) that usually comes with the documentation. I searched around the net at some that were posted for sale as complete and none included the wheel. Or at least none showed it in any pictures. Do the Montbrillant's not include the wheel? I don't want to make a trip back to the jewelry store if it doesn't come with it.

Hello to all !I'm not so much active over here, as I spent most of my spare time on french watch forums.Anyway, I felt I should share my Panerai update collection as nothing new has occured with my Rolex collection. New Rolex will be the new GMT BLNR, but it should not reach my home until mid july...Anyway, as by June 21. 2013, gone are my Panerai PAM 312 and 183.In went PAM 389 (awesome piece of Submersible), as well as a used PAM 243 (submersible 1000m).And today, came my 2 new pieces. It's all about luck and chance if they arrived at the same time. Lucky me I had put money aside to buy them ! LOLMy Panerai collection now consists of :PAM 372PAM 389PAM 243PAM 423PAM 448As some of you might notice, I have received today a second PAM 389. In order to be sure to have one, in fact, I made two separate orders to two different AD.... Rolex submariner - I finally brought my dream watch today
Hi guys,Just brought a brand new Rolex submariner from my local AD and I love it.What do you guys think?Ps. Sorry for the grainy photos I tried uploading much sharper ones but it kept telling me the file size was to big or the dimensions exceeds the limits.But regardless, so happy I finally got myself a Rolex. I don't think I'll ever take it off lol.It's flawless, the AD told me that you can tell the quality of a watch by putting it to your ear and the quieter it is the better. In a silent room with the watch right on my ear I can't hear a thing. Don't know how true his statement is but I know the cheap autos I've owned in the past have always made a loud tic toc sound.I love the double etched engraving on the rehult and the lume is fantastic. Anyway just wanted to share this with you all as I'm now part of the ROLEX club :)
