I found this at a flea market for 2$ today, I purchased it so I could have another donor watch to take apart and practice on, but after a little google foo I am thinking this is too valuable to risk not being able to get it back together especially after looking at this complex movement. I could only find a few chronographs slightly similar and they were going for a pretty penny. of course condition is everything and this one is lacking a good dial, but wow what a dial. its simply amazing if you ask me.any thoughts or opinions? it has a swiss movement that i assume is ETA but the only numbers I can see on it are 2593 is that a known ETA movement? If you were me would you put in on the 'bay as is, or just go ahead and tear it apart and treat it like the $2 watch that I paid.IMG_0023.jpgIMG_0024.jpgIMG_0025.jpgIMG_0026.jpgIMG_0027.jpg

Today this Heuer Autavia Ref 11063T arrived from South America. It has many cosmetic issues, but nothing the Heuer wizards of Europe cannot handle. A few months and a 'few' dollars and she will be back in showroom condition. Pictures:
Many of the new Citizen watches have a sealed caseback that should only be opened by the factory or you void the warranty. I do not care about warranties much but i do care about the idea that you will not be able to get replacement parts for the movement anymore. l believe that a real watch should be able to be opened. I want to know what is inside the case and the quality of the movement and parts. I see a trend where the manufacturers will seal everything we buy. Computer parts like hard drives use this idea and try to get a replacement if a seal is broken. BTW i think Citizen watches are great and i hope they will go back to the screw back case.
