Swatch Group Enjoys Rebound in Second Half of 2009
Swatch Group struck a positive tone in its 2009 financial report as results for the second half of the year were much stronger than the first half, when watch sales were down 16.4%. Watch sales finished the year down 5.5% at a constant rate, largely outperforming Swiss Watch Federation export sales figures for the same period. The Group forecasts improved sales and margins in 2010. Swatch Group sees continuing recovery from the sharp economic downturn that began in late 2008, and the group reported increased market share in nearly all price segments for 2009. The report states in part:“The last months of 2009 showed a very positive development, with clear signs of market normalization and increased consumer confidence. Been a long time
Having just got back from Thailand recently, and haven't posted in a while on the watch forums, I couldn't stay away for long. While in Thailand I almost pulled the trigger on a Seiko limited edition diver with compass function that was a tribute to the 60th bithday to the King of Thailand. I really liked the watch but the store would not negotiate the price to my liking, in Thailand they have prices set for Thais and for Farangs(foriegners), I should have let my wife who is Thai, negotiate for me while I waited outside the store but live and learn. While in Thailand I did check out tons of replicas, although I wouldn't buy a replica having bought a few in my lifetime and know that its a crap shoot, sometimes you get one that will last and other times they will breakdown within a couple months, but they are fun to look at, and you can tell from the replicas which brands are setting the current trends. Of course replicas are dominated by Rolex, Panerais, Patek, Omega, Tag, surprizingly

New Breitling Rubber Strap
Just purchased a new Breitling rubber strap for my Galactic II and couldn't be happier. It is a very soft rubber and fits the watch perfectly. It feels like a whole different watch, much lighter and so comfortable. I ordered the blue to compliment the navy blue dial. I'm taking Mystro's advice and replacing the 22mm spring bars for 23mm. Plan to wear it on an upcoming dive trip to Bonaire. What do you guys think?
