Breguet 4820ST/59/S76 wrist watches news:
I know the mvt.will give me all the info I need to know but I'm hoping someone here will be able to shed a little light on it.It's 18K,so I was told, have no reason to mistrust the seller.Nothing at all on the case back.I will have it opened as soon as I can find a competent watchmaker in my neck of the woods.Appears to be pink gold.Dial clearly shows age but not at all sure how old it is...40's ??Any help is greatly appreciated.
I've developed an interest in watches from the 1930s, 40s and 50s (from watching old movies, corny I know). So I was wondering, when did affordable automatic watches become available to the public? Were the mechanical watches all replaced by automatics? Did the automatics take over the watch market or did most people stick with mechanical ("wind up") watches. Thanks in advance for the lesson. Best regards.
Hello TRF. I'm interested in this watch, but unfortunately the black dial I'm so obsessed about is hard to come by around here. Might end up with a white dial, does anyone have any experience changing the dial? Would like to know what are my options.Cheers!Edit: let me rephrase. Changing the dial should be possible, but as these are older models, what are my chances of finding a dial?
