- This is a handsome watch that looks quite elegant on the wrist. But, it's quite large and heavy and would bably look odd on a wrist. My husband likes the way it looks (he's a guy) and seems happy with the purchase.

Sorry to barge in here like this. Hi my name is BROCK. Ive been lusting over a SMP 2254.50 for several years. Im 35 years old and never had a "NICE" watch. So the other day Im thinking ok its time to buy that SMP. Cant find one anywhere!! Can someone please direct me to an authorize dealer that still has NIB SMP 2254.50! I have been watching and even bidding on some vintage Hammies on you-know-where and have even had a few close calls. Several of the watches that have caught my eye have dials that have been re-painted.Does this detract from a vintage watch? Does it decrease the dollar value? Are vintage watches usually more fragile, requiring special handling?
Horological Machine No1HM1-BlackHM1-RSIntroduction: Horological Machine No1 is an extremely sophisticated timepiece on many levels: visually, technically and emotionally. It is as much, if not more, art and sculpture as micro-engineering. By designing and constructing its first three-dimensional machine MB&F broke free of the constraints imposed by traditional horology.HM1 is a totally original timepiece, featuring hours and minutes on separate dials, raised central one-minute tourbillon, seven-day power reserve, four mainspring barrels and both automatic and manual winding. It has a radical new design and construction plus a brand new movement with 376 parts and 81 functional jewels. The 4 barrel constructionWhile the most visual technical element of the movement is the rotating one-minute tourbillon on top of the dial, it was the four massive mainspring barrels that dominated HM1's design and construction. There is no mistaking the three-dimensionality of Horolog
Hey guys, so guess what I got yesterday? Yup, my Steinhart GMT Ocean1 GMT 42mm Black (T0201 model). The pictures were taken with a Nikon D5000 with the Nikkor 35mm AF-S DX 1:1.8G lens.So let's break it down step by step:Opening the box - first look: Startling. Gorgeous contrast from the sapphire, face almost looked blueish! Grade: AThe bracelet - not the heaviest bracelet i've worn, but it is of solid construction and is comfortable. The fold-over clasp is a click-in, not a push-button, and it has the clip-clasp to keep it closed. Grade A-/B+. Wish it were a bit heavier and the clasp a bit more substantial, it feels like tin.The body of the watch itself is very solid SS. The caseback is a new type from Steinhart, and I love it (see above pic)!. The crown is marked with the Steinhart "S" symbol. The crown screws down and twists open very smoothly. Grade: AThe bezel is more of a matte black finish, of which I very much prefer. The silver numbers contrast well/crisp off of the
I've been toying with the idea of trading a couple of my watches in for the steel 5960. I think having the option of leather and rubber straps would also be great. I've seen pics of the watch on a leather strap but none on a rubber strap. Any steel 5960s on a rubber strap out there?Cheers
