Zenith El Primero 410 Watch: Another Ode To The Past
Not willing to let the rather svelte grey Zenith El Primero 410 Limited Edition get that sweet movement all to itself, Zenith has launched another new 410 model which features a silver sun ray dial. The new Zenith 410 ref 03.2091.410/01.C494 shares most of its design and technical attributes with the 410 LE we showed you back in October. With a 42mm steel case and sapphire on both sides, the 410 forgoes the contrasting white-on-grey coloring and star markers at two and ten seen on the limited model, opting instead for uniform silver dial design.The silver dial and the blued steel accents make for a very attractive variation that seems a bit more reserved than the previous 410. Obviously still powered by the El Primero 410 movement, this El Primero still receives the 36,000 vph rate, column wheel-chronograph as well as triple date and moonphase complications. The day and month are shown in distinct apertures above the three and nine sub dials while the date is displayed via a convention

hey everyone,So it's been a LONG time since we've had a Rolex Photo contest. So I thought I'd check to see, do you all want to have one?A photo contest is only successful when the MEMBERS participate. Having a voting doesn't do much if we don't have entries to look at. So, if we had a photo contest, would you participate & submit photo's? They're lots of fun, and we've enjoyed them in the past. The winner gets bragging rights that their photo won, and the photo will be the Rolex forum masthead photo at the top of the page.Experience in photography or photo editing software is NOT needed. In face, several of the past winners were complete novices and won against some of the "pro" photographers here. So don't worry if you're photo skills aren't up there with Ansel Adams. Already posted this in the General forum.I really like the looks of this watch. The dial is all business, and the current time is what it is all about. The dial has an etched pattern where the raised Arabic numerals are placed, and inside that, the hunter green face is treated to a sunray finish. I especially am fond of the treatment of the second hands at the 6 o'clock position, which is highlighted by an encompassing raised metal circle, and thick ring of off white paint.The case and bezel are brushed, except for a polished 2mm ring.The caseback is all exhibition and it is almost as beautiful as looking at the dial. Even though the movement isn't finished, its mechanics seem like a work of art to me.The watch itself is 44mm, with a sapphire crystal treated with anti-reflective film. The movement is an ETA Unitas 6498.1, with 17 jewels and it runs at 18,000 VPH.Finally, the hands, numerals, and hour markers are treated with copious amounts of lume. Picked it at 6am this morning
