Was this the last USA made Hamilton?
If someone else can positively identify this watch as NOT being an American made Hamilton, at the Lancaster PA plant in 1988, then I would very much like to know where it was made and by whom. Every source I could find on military watches claims that the GG-W-113 is an American made Hamilton, made in Lancaster PA., and that it was the last American made Hamilton:Thanks, in advance!

What happened to...
....all the black straps with red stitching? I remember a few being on the market when I finished the restoration of the Heuer Autavia last year, but decided to wait to grab one. Silly of me, because they seem to have vanished! I also took a look at the strap for the Christopher Ward Speedhawk, but it's 22 mm at the lugs and I need 20. So what's a WIS to do? How about ordering this:and using one of these:to end up with this:Stupid way to do it, but it works. I guess I'll find out how permanent these markers really are. For $19 with shipping, why not?

What's a nice simple, classy watch?
I'm looking for an automatic watch that's not too dressy and not too sporty. I don't want a chronograph as I prefer the simple look of a clean face. I also don't want a huge bezel. The Seamaster is nice, but the bezel makes it look a little too sporty for me. I'd like to stay under $2k and want a new watch, not used. I'm not partial to any particular brand and am open to less popular manufacturers.
