SIHH 2013 Watch Show Recap: Don't Rock The Boat
Today I received an interesting press release from the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) regarding the end of the 2013 show. Interestingly enough the title of the release very much mimicked the most positive way I could interpret my feelings about the show. But more on that in a moment.To remind you, SIHH is a large, invitation-only trade show put on by the Richemont Group watch brands as well as a few partners (such as Audemars Piguet). They separated from Baselworld years ago to get better contact with buyers and to be "more luxury." Compared to Baselworld it is quite calm, but nevertheless it is still a hustle and bustle trade show. Question about TT1 diver crown?
I have the TT1 shown below, my question is regarding the screw down crown. When i bought it pre owned the screw crown only took about 1/4 turn to lock. I had it repaired under warranty and now it is back with me it now takes just over a full turn to lock the crown in from open, can someone please confirm that this is normal. It is between a full turn and 1 turn and 1/4 from unscrewed to screwed down. Thanks.

Your Name on Paperwork?
I'm planning on picking up my first Patek soon and am wondering if it matters that much if your name isn't on the paperwork when you buy. Do you mind buying used if all papers are there and watch is in mint condition? I'm trying to figure out if I want to go New (from AD) with my name on the papers, New from a grey dealer, or purchase it used. I realize options 2 or 3 I'd be saving a significant amount of money as the pieces I'm looking at aren't typically discounted much. Looking for advice or first hand story on which route you went. This will be my first Patek and I'll be purchasing to commemorate a professional life event. I'm ~30 and work in a traditional corporate setting. I'd be rotating it with a BLNR (which I can't trade as it was a wedding gift from the wife) Will be getting an Aquanaut (5167 or 5167r) or Nautilus (5711 or 5712)...I have not decided yet.
