How to get a date while buying watches...
So here's the story...I passed the Omega AD near my home (about 15 miles) yesterday, which is a small one that carries several other brands as well like Cartier and Mont Blanc (they're nice by the way) just to name a few...Have visited them a couple of times in the past, last time to check out the Hour Vision, and have always been greeted by the older shop owner. Well yesterday I wanted to check out the blue SMP again, and was greeted by a nice lady. They don't have the automatic version in stock but they do have the quartz, as well as the Limited Bond Edition. Best prices for this particular model can be found at the US, but a large Omega AD at Antwerp quoted me a great price a couple of weeks ago. Since I've decided not to travel to the US, I was planning to take their offer next time I'd go to Antwerp. After some talking with the extremely nice lady, who turned out to be the daughter of the owner, she was able to offer me the same price as that other AD How could I resist Since she

I'm new to this world, so please be gentle.So there I was with some time to spare in London this week. Not having had a watch for about twenty years, I decided to search out Somlo Antiques in Burlington Arcade - supposedly the UK's only vintage Omega dealer authorised by Omega.Greeted by a very nice chap; told him the sort of thing I was interested in, and he brought out such a thing of beauty. As soon as it was offered to my wrist it was instant love! At long last, an exquisite piece of engineering.1967 Seamaster De Ville 14 carat gold. No idea I'm afraid of movement type, as I had no real knowledge of such things (until I found this forum).Trouble is they want GBP2,500 for it. Now that I'm surfing for similar I'm suspecting that's way over the odds?To the untrained eye it seemed to be in fantastic condition (no pictures I'm afraid). Apparently every Somlo watch is fully serviced by one of their Omega technicians, and comes with a two year guarantee.So there you have it; being so new

Hi all, I’ve been a Rolex Lover forever, but I’ve flipped and sold so many that I’m tired of them now. Don’t get me wrong I love them but just fancy something different so I cleared my collection (partially) and am making room for an AP ROO 26470ST.OO. I wanted to get opinions of owning such a watch vs a Rolex Daytona or sport Rolex by an AP vet who can comment on fit, finish, feel, reliability, value etc. are they expensive to service and can dings and scartches be easily polished out?If anyone can chime in would really appreciate it! What’s a good price to pay for an AP elephant ROO? Are they easy to sell vs a Rolex and do they go up in price like Rolex do?Thanks in advance to all that chime in.
