Affordable Vintage: 70's Bulova Deep Sea Chronograph
Over the years, Bulova has produced a boat load of differently styled divers and chronographs. During the 1970’s, they made several different diver chronographs with a variety of case and dial styles. Perhaps the most quintessential of the 1970’s was the Deep Sea Chronograph with “surfboard dial”. Produced for only two years, 1970 and 1971, this chunky diver has all the 1970’s hallmarks.My example was made in 1971, and is in all original condition. The dial is the main attraction here, silvery white with a fantastic blue oval “surfboard” encircling the two chronograph register sub dials. It has thick, applied steel markers with lume filled lines, and unique broad white hands with day-glow orange tips. I once heard someone refer to them as “cigarette” hands as they do resemble a cigarette with an ember at the tip! Trigger pulled...bullet in the air
I was asking about this Speedy the other day and got some good replies. I decided to buy it. Prices online had a $600 price range. I got the last one at the lowest price, which helped me "sell" the idea to the Mrs. Anyway, my newest Omega is on the way and will be here tomorrow. My pics will follow, but here's my incoming:

Wanted to get some opinions from the great minds of this sub-forum. Every beginning of the year, I get the itch to buy a new piece or trade something out. I got my Rolex SD43 last week and I thought it would hold me over, but it obviously didn't since I'm starting this thread.I was thinking about trading in my RG44 for a ROC RG 26331 blue dial. The ROC picture is a random photo from the net. The 44RG photo is my actual watch.I am still awaiting the arrival of my blue dial SS Skydweller sometime in the next two months. Would another blue dial be redundant?What do you guys think? Thanks in advance.

Elephant or Vampire
Hi all, seen all the threads with regard to the 44 Ti, its a beaut but my budget will only stretch to a Vampire or Elephant....Ill be new to AP and have seen some great threads on things to know before you buy. Trouble is, i wan thinking about a Vampire then saw an Elephant.Thoughts would be appreciative Cheers Darren
