So my latest addition is most definitely a grail watch for me and frankly I never thought I¡¯d own one primarily because of the cost. A little background¡til now my most expensive watch has been my Christopher Ward C40 Speedhawk¡.and I got that one during one of their infrequent sales for a great price. My collection is made up of mostly watches of the $500 or less variety and I¡¯ve been perfectly happy with that¡.you can get some really GREAT watches with that kind of budget and I definitely feel I have. So this past August 17 my wife and I have been together for 25 years¡.married for 15 but together since our senior year of high school. We used to always try and get something nice for each other on that date every year but since we had our son 6.5 years ago we kind of calmed down with that. This year we were talking and she said ¡°You know what¡25 years is a long time and we deserve to get ourselves something nice¡±. We¡¯re definitely now doing the ¡°pick your own gift¡± thing

Omega Museum Racend
Firstly , hello to all.New to the forum , although been reading quite a bit.Decided that it is time for a grown up watch.... I am looking at Rolex Submariner , like the new one that just came out 116610 ( Black dial , stainless steel )My wife is suggesting I get the Omega Museum Racend No 8 I think ( 1949 original style)I know its two different watches , dress vs sporty , so to compare would be useless , but are there any thoughts on the Omega in terms of usability , durability , practicality etcMy concerns : will the gold scratch more than the SS ; I believe it is manual wound which surprised me but if it is , is it practical ; I am not sure if the watch will not be an overkill in a normal office environment.Plus none of local jewelers have in stock , so no chance to see it unless I go to UK ( or get it shipped from UK after I buy it ).My wife has a new Omega Constellation , so it cant be that she is pushing me to get one , so she can have a new watch too :)Look forward to your though
