Vacheron Constantin Vacheron Constantin 27525 wrist watches news:
Just a quick pic that I haven't shared before.
OK - put up your hand if you can tell me what Rule 7 is?Anyone?Well, let me share it with you.....Rule 7 states "Plagiarism save time....."So why would I not capitalise on the good work work done by those lovely fellows over there in the WTF American Forum? So here we go......The WTF Hamilton Forum PHOTO CONTEST!!
Just a small taste...We are working hard on getting all of the new straps on our web site. There are several new models, as well as more sizes of popular straps like the Silas. We've also got more long length straps and new 26mm leather straps as well!Keep your eyes peeled.
The WTF forum members have helped me already in identifying the ref 1463 i've recently had passed on to me to care for. I've spoken with Stern's in NYC and will have a consultation eventually. I'm interested in your unbiased wisdom as to if the watch should simply be cleaned thoroughly or actually polished to a degree of scratch removal etc.. I was told by the people in NYC that the watch that the movement should def. be cleaned/oiled as the last trip to PP in Geneva was in 1979 for cleaning/oiling and dial replacement, even though the watch runs well and has only been worn a handfull of times since then. Thanks in advance for your advice! (You can see posted pics of the heirloom a few posts down) I guess the question is...What would YOU do? The watch WILL have to go to Geneva for the service by specialist.
One of my most exciting watch purchases: My new A. Lange 1 Moonphase in Platinum. The watch has the moon phase, power reserve, and outsized date complications. The 398 part 54 jewel German Silver movement is beautifully decorated. The case measures 39mm and weighs in at 142 grams. I also enjoy this particular moon phase. Many companies claim that their moon phase is accurate within 1 day per 122 years¡except that it only changes once or twice a day. So at any given time, it could be off by almost an entire day every day. Not with the Lange. The solid gold moon phase wheel is driven continuously from the hour wheel, so a clutch mechanism was required so that setting the moon phase would not affect the running of the watch. This resulted in an astounding 93 individual parts being devoted just to the moon phase mechanism. I also enjoy this Lange because it is powered by two barrels, giving it a 72 hour power reserve. The dial is ridiculously symmetrical (even though it may not
