2010 - let the hunt begin!
We've seen a few lists for the New Year already but let's make it official in this thread. What do you foresee yourself adding to your collection in 2010? I'd like to scratch a couple more vintage itches, namely from Breitling (Top Time, Chronomat, Sprint, or Datora), Longines (Flagship 34x), Omega (Constellation 751 "C" case and Seamster 321 chronograph), and maybe a JLC (Memovox or Geomatic Chronometre). On the modern side, I'm thinking of a few changes. I'd like to have a change of pace with a different blue dialed watch than the Aqua Terra, and there are a couple in the running including the Rolex 116000 no-date Oyster Perpetual and 116200 DateJust. I'd have to have the cyclops removed from the DJ though. And I'm still enamored with the Chopard 1860 and Breguet 5197 in white gold , plus the H. Moser Mayu and Roger Dubuis Sympathie Guilloch¨¦ in rose gold. I just have to figure out what goes. I did reduce the overall amount of watches in my collection but not down to 30 lik

luminox dead
I took my Luminox 3900 to Walmart to get a new battery. The watch was working, but the battery was getting weak. After trying 2 different batteries, the person at the jewelry counter said my watch doesn't work with their batteries. Consequently, I took my watch to a Dakota Watch store in the mall. Their person said that the battery lead that sits just under the battery had been torn off. The battery cannot power the watch without this piece of metal. In addition, the piece of metal that keeps the battery in place is mangled also. Can this watch be rapaired? If so, where, how much? Should Walmart be responsible? Thanks

Enjoying the new watch diet
I haven't gotten a new timepiece since February - that's four months, count 'em, four - and I find it delightful. As I've mentioned before, it has given me a chance to re-assess my stash and I'm enjoying the process.But I'm also enjoying the watches I already own. Just this week, I took a good look at my ancient Movado, learned to really appreciate my Omega Seamaster Professional all over again (love the red second hand) and savored my black dial Tudor Submariner when I put it on last night after wearing one of my Clercs all day.These pieces are all cool - at least to me (and that's all that counts) - so taking a break from buying has been fun as I consider the next direction I will take my collection.It's always good to appreciate what you already have!

Grey Dealer or Orient QC?
I bought an authentic new Orient M-Force Air Diver through the Bay. A grey Dealer called " Duty Free Island" HK who have racked up over 20,000 sales with 99.7%. A great price at $235. The Orient rubber strap was attached upside down( buckle attached to bottom lug). Orient QC or "Island" perspiration shop hehehe?

116613 LB v. LN v. 114060 as an "all purpose" watch
Hi all,As background, I am an attorney who wears a suit 4-5 days a week and currently own the following luxury watches:1980s DateJust with a Jubilee dial on a black leather strap. I wear this with black dress shoes. IWC Regulateur on a brown leather strap. I wear this with brown dress shoes. I would like to add a third all purpose watch -- a watch I could wear for weekends, travel, and with a suit. Here are my thoughts on each of the three I listed above. 116613 LB: This may be my favorite looking Rolex. The issue, however, is I think it would look best with brown shoes, and I already gravitate towards my IWC when I wear brown shoes. 116613 LN: I also really like the look of this watch, and it is a bit more versatile than the LB.
