What's the point of the 24 hr complication?
I might be missing the point, but what's the point of the 24 hour complication? By the way, for anyone who doesn't what it is, it's the complication most frequently found on the 1970s cal 1040 and 1045 movements. I've posted up a photo of a "big blue" and the 24 hour marker is indicated by the red arrow (not my watch by the way).All this complication does just tell you whether it's AM or PM. But shouldn't you know this already. I could tell the difference between 9AM and 9PM even without a watch. It seems these days Omega has done away with this complication, probably because it's pointless?

Opening and diagnosing a coinsilver Columbian dollar watch - Hunter Case
Hi there,This is my second watch thread in what may become a "series" on different types of dollar watch movements in the small collection I have acquired over the last month. My apologies if some of the technical terms are clunky or wrong, the only watch repair book I have thus far is really limited in scope! I'll get a better one soon. Has anyone seen the below type of escape wheel design before? It looks really unique to me. Also, if anyone knows anything on the history of these Columbians I would be really grateful to hear it. I found nothing so far online. What a day what a day
I don't see enough threads about the things that people DO with their watches other than look at them. There's an occasional mention of wearing one to work, but rarely do we see them in the wild having fun.I used my Blue JDM Riseman to let me know that my friend and I completed the Everest Challenge - Ski/Ride the height of Mt. Everest in one day. At a bigger mountain, it's not that much of an accomplishment but at our home mountain with it's measly 1400 feet of vertical it's tough and takes most of the day. We did 21 runs to make it.On the lift this morningLater in the afternoon when we were starting to tire out, I stopped to take some pictures of the gorgeous view:You can make out Mt. Washington in this one! Mt. Should I wait for 375 soon or 335 now?
If I get 335 now I don't think I will get 375 later (even I want but budget limit is full)Anyone know will 375 come before the end of this year?This is reason why I can get only one more. Will trade it out soon.

PM and sizing
When I picked up my Plat Daytona earlier this week AD recommended setting the adjustment in the clasp one notch tighter than my SS Daytona due to the increased weight. SS was very comfortable - this isn't bad but feels different. Is sizing down a good move? Am I just not used to the weight yet? Others with experience - did u size differently with PM vs SS with same watch?
