The market for really expensive toys isn't what it used to be. Don't get me wrong, that market for luxury play things comes and goes, but these days it is hard to promote a several hundred thousand dollar watch from a newer brand that looks like it was meant to appeal to fans of traditional watch making who are also weekend militia members. That is the case for this sportier version of the Cecil Purnell La Grand Date Tourbillon watch called the "Pit Lane V12."Cecil Purnell is a brand that is really trying to legitimize itself, but they only probably need to sell a handful of watches each year to stay alive. According to them they ONLY make tourbillon-based watches, and subscribe to the "true values of haute horlogerie." Now that sounds like a BS marketing statement if I ever heard one. Keeping Time VS Official Time Website
I was comparing two of my Omega's, my PO and my Pro with the official time website. I zero'd them with the website and then 24/48 hours later notice anywhere from 10-15 seconds slow in comparison with the website. I am going to keep them on the same setting to see how much more it will vary. Now both of my two watches are doing this and within 3-5 sec's of each other. Should I be using the website or should I use a quartz/digital watch for this? How much variance should I see?

[Question] Watch Case - Looking for Feedback
Hello,My friend and I have spent the last several months designing a watch case. We are looking for some objective feedback on our designs and thought we'd ask you guys for help.We've submitted a patent pending on the mechanism behind clicking your watch in to place - which is not visible in the screenshots. We're working on a design patent as well. considering a AP... Opinions for those experienced
OK ive come across a AP ROO Volcano 2010....Now ive been on the look for a AP for a while and the volcano is def not my first choice i have found one for what i think to be a good price ($8500usd)Ive got 3 rolexs,omega and a panerai so i want to step it up... my concern is what is the resale on them if i choose that its not for me? and is there anything that i should look out for specifically?I can see what guys are asking for them on Chrono 24 but i take alot of that with a grain of salt, like anything what people ask and what they get are usually two different things and just because thats what they are asking doesnt mean they are worth it.I have bought watches previously and paid a premium and then decided that im over it and lost a bucket load of money because the market has fallen out on them(Breitling ,Uboat,Oris etc...)Opinions??pic for reference
