On May 10 at Geneva’s Beau-Rivage Hotel, Sotheby’s will offer vintage and modern collectible timepieces including Patek Philippe Refs. 5959P and 2499 (fourth series), and a historically important gold, enamel and diamond presentation pocket watch most likely made for King Ludwig II of Bavaria circa 1880.

Only a couple of months ago, Bremont announced a new partnership with the America's Cup Event Authority and Oracle Team USA, serving as the Official Timing Partner of the 35th America's Cup (yacht racing, but crazy high-tech ones that ride above the water). Following that, they released four watches in collaboration with their new patterns. Two classically inspired pieces called the American Cup series; a three-hander and chronograph, both of which hint at Marine chronometers. Some questions about a Stehrling and watches in general
Hello everyone, I was looking for a new watch and I came accross a Stuhrling Original Montague Mechanical Watch 293.33152: I hadn't heard of the brand before so I did some research on it. I couldnt find too much in the way of reviews of this particular watch or of the brand itself, but I did come across some threads on here about people asking if the brand was any good. The responses seemed to be pretty favorable, so I'm still thinking about getting this watch due to its low price ($70).I've looked through the Horology 101 - Understanding your watch thread a bit, so I know what the basics about this watch are. I was wondering if anyone could give me an estimate for how long hand-wound watches stay wound. Would I need to wind it every night? or every couple of days? I've never had a hand wound watch before so I'm curious as to what I'm getting into. Also, at this price ($70) do you think this watch will be of cheap quality? AP Ambassadors - in some cases... why???
Guys who own watches related to these ambassadors, please don't take this personally, the watches related to the ambassadors I am about to mention are some of AP's nicest, BUT I find some of AP's ambassador choices a bit... unusual.Rubens Barrichello - lovely bloke, long career, not much success, good back up driver to Schumacher.Jarno Trulli - again, nice long career in which he won f... all. Well, sorry, that's not fair, he won 1 GP.Both kinda mediocre...I just wonder why they didn't align themselves with more successful ambassadors - perhaps they don't have the budget that TAG/Omega/etc have?Thoughts?PS... and YES, they have both won more F1 races than me! :)
