Dietrich OTC Watch Is Pretty Cool For €1,000
The boutique, relatively affordable, watch brand Dietrich will soon release a brand new model that we think is going to be rather cool for the price. Their new watch is called the Dietrich OTC (OTC-A01), and rather than "over the counter," that stands for "Organic Time Chronometer." Sound like a lot of hype? Well the name certainly is. The piece isn't a COSC certified chronometer and while the design is fluid and organic in style, I don't think the OTC was grown in field without the use of pesticide. Having said that, Dietrich does make a cool watch and there is a lot to look forward to here.We first encountered Dietrich back in 2011 when we gave a hands-on look at the Dietrich Snow watch. The founder and designer Emmanuel Dietrich is back for 2014 with a watch that he claims now "perfectly matches his exceptions." If you are a frequenter of any of the popular watch forums you most certainly have seen the discussion pop up regarding fakes, homages and replicas and each persons opinion on each. This is a common topic and often a heated one as some people have very strong feelings regarding one term or another. But, sometimes the discussion is muddled by varying definitions of the terms and which is appropriate in which situation. Having been part of these conversations I have my own thoughts on these terms as they apply to our hobby; my opinion is not the final word, obviously, but my own take based on the definitions of the terms.Let’s start with what I feel is the most misused term when it comes to watches: replica. When this word is most often used it is in reference to a watch that makes its best efforts to look exactly like another watch only made by a different manufacture. What Wrong with the Dial on the Hamilton Taurus ?
I would have love to get her, but the Dial looks discolored, is it too much Sun, or humidity that made it look like this ?Now for what it should look like...Asked the seller if it was a flash effect when taking the photo, but, he verified the watch has this discoloration on the dial...

Where do AP's hold their incredible value?
Hello, Pardon the simplicity of this question...I am curious as to where these watches are generating massive monetary value. I understand materials, craftsmanship, and precision come into play, but it seems like AP's lower end models are leaps and bounds ahead of many other luxury brands as far as pricing goes. Is there something I am missing? Secondary market strength? Lucrative crafting? I appreciate all answers/references/resources & would like to state I am here to learn.- Thank youMP
