Agreed on the brightness
even with the usual green lume.When I was doing a side-by-side comparison in the Spring between a Sea-Dweller and a GMT-II-C, I noticed that the two were equally bright (to my eye) immediately after charging. In the end, that sold me on the Sea-Dweller, as the lack of lume had been my biggest concern about that watch.What would be great is if you did a time-lapse test on the new maxi-dial versus your two-tone. How does the lume compare after an hour? Two hours? Six hours?I bet the results are surprising, and the old smaller markers will show comparable luminosity for quite some time.Cheers!Kindest Regards,Planet X

Took a dive into Ramon's deep sea treasure chest and came up with this...This is the midsized(38mm) 4205 automatic Seiko diver from June of 1993.It is 17 jewels; beats at 21,600bph and is hand windable.The watch has now been cleaned and put on a Citizen Jubilee bracelet which fits almost perfectly.Pictures of that to come...camera batteries are all on charge

Impulse buying is too expensive
Too often I see a watch for sale (good price) and buy it, only to find in a few weeks (or days), it's just not cutting it. I have needed to stop this foolishness, so I am in the process of developing a system to help me resist temptation. Here's what I am doing, and so far it's worked.I have three watches in my small collection (I'm a wearer, not a collector) that I really enjoy wearing, rotating them regularly. If I see a watch that catches my eye and tempts me, I ask myself, "would you wear that instead of your XXX?" Most often the answer is no. After the initial thrill of acquiring a new watch, I usually go back to my faves, leaving the newcomer in the drawer to collect dust and waste time. I realize this sounds juvenile, but with all the impulsive buys I have made in the last couple years, I need something to keep me from pulling the proverbial trigger so often.Peace, out.:D
